Chromate conversion coating processes

This process offers a cost effective non-electrolytic method for coating aluminium and castings. The end result provides a good pre-paint finish, corrosion resistance and adhesion qualities. The thickness of the coating is approximately 2um.

Alocrom 1000

A chemical process which produces a colourless protective coating without significantly changing the surface. Paint adhesion to this coating is good, however it offers lower electrical resistance than Alocrom 1200.

This chromating process complies to DEF STAN03-18/MIL-C-5541 Class 3 specifications.

Alocrom 1200

Alocrom 1200 is a chemical which forms a golden protective chromate coating which offers excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The coating is ideal for all types of aluminium alloys.

Alocrom 1200 complies to DEF STAN 03-18/MIL-C-5541 Class 1 specifications.
